How to Grill a Whole Chicken
Grilling season is a blast. Sitting on the patio with friends and family on a comfortable summer night while enjoying a juicy grilled burger with some grilled sweet corn! Some nights, we’ll have steaks and pork chops other nights brats and burgers. Believe it or not, we have not grilled a chicken! For the first time we grilled a chicken, not a cut up chicken. A whole chicken. Since it was our first time, we didn’t want anything complicated. Juicy results from a simple recipe. Boy, did we get juicy results! Here is our step by step recipe of grilling a whole chicken.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of Salt
1/2 teaspoon of Pepper
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
Prep:
Combine Salt and Pepper together in a small bowl
Pat Chicken Dry
Rub Vegetable oil on chicken
Sprinkle and Rub seasoning on chicken
Tuck wings behind the back
Tie legs together
Directions:
Heat up your grill.
Heap up 2 piles of coals on opposite sides of grill.
Place chicken in the center of grill with breast facing up.
Grill chicken for 50 minutes. Check the temperature by sticking thermometer in a chicken breast. It should be 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
Empty cavity of grease
Place chicken directly over coals for 5 minutes.
Flip chicken while keeping it directly over coals for another 5 minutes.
Check Temperature again, This time it should be 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Let the chicken cool off.
